Welcome to Pinboard version 1.02! Pinboard is a powerful door, that
allows users to communicate with each other. This is done by simply
entering a text on one of the 26 boards. If the user who entered the
text logs off, and another logs on to your BBS, he can reply to the
text of the other user by also entering a text near or below the text
which the user replys to. One of the nice things of Pinboard is, that
games like tic-tac-tor or chess can be played by simply typing the
move on a board, or, in case of tic-tac-tor, just by adding a 'O' or
'X'. I hope the users will love Pinboard.

├─=≡[ 2 - Features and Instructions ]≡=───────────────────────────────┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
In this chapter, I will explain the features found in Pinboard.
In the menu, you have the following options:
ESC The ESCAPE key will quit Pinboard, and return the user to the
BBS.
+ All boards have a name. This name can be choosen by the users.
If you press this key, Pinboard will ask:
'Type the key of the board of which you want to change the name of:'
You must now enter the board's letter, of which you want to change
the name of. This name must be less than 20 characters.
ENTER Pressing ENTER in the menu, will refresh the screen. The screen will
be cleared, and all the information on the screen will be printed
on the screen all over again.
A-Z You can go to a board by pressing its letter. There are 26 board,
A to Z.
Date There is a column which has 'Date' above it. This column includes
all the dates of when the boards were last edited.
If you choose a board, by typing its letter, you have the following options:
R 'R' will redraw the screen. This function has the same effect as
ENTER in the menu. (see above)
SPACE When a user presses SPACE, when reading a board, the user can
edit a screen and add his own text to the board.
While editing a screen, you have the following options and editing
facilities:
Crsr keys Moves the cursor around.
INS/CTRL-R Toggles Insert. With Insert ON, a line will move to the right
when typing.
DEL/CTRL-K Deletes the current character.
TAB/CTRL-I Moves the cursor 5 positions to the right.
CTRL-Y Deletes the current line.
HOME Moves the cursor to the begin of the current line.
END Moves the cursor to the last character on the current line.
PGUP Moves the cursor to the top of the screen.
PGDOWN Moves the cursor to the bottom of the screen.
CTRL-Z This function is only available if you have registered Pinboard.
With this function you and your users can edit the header of a
board. The header is the two lines where in a UNREGISTERED
version of Pinboard the Unregistered message is. If you
register, this message will be spaces, and you and your
users will be able to put their own text there.
ESC Stop editing.

├─=≡[ 3 - Registering Pinboard ]≡=────────────────────────────────────┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
Pinboard is NOT free. It is distributed under the Shareware concept. This
means that you can copy and let copy it, spreading it all over the world,
as long as you don't modify, change, debug Pinboard in any way. And
if you have used Pinboard for some time, let's say 3 weeks or
less, you *MUST* register it, if you want to continue using Pinboard.
Please remember that I put a lot of time, work and frustration in making
Pinboard.
Registering will cost you only Fl. 20,-- Dutch guilders, or
$15 US Dollars. When you register, you'll receive a registration key.
To register Pinboard, fill in the PINBOARD.REG file, and follow the
instructions given in the file. You must pay the registration money
(amount given above) by one of the following ways:
- Cash, in an envelope
- By transferring to my Rabobank acount, 30.54.47.009
For more information, read the PINBOARD.REG file carefully.
ATTENTION: WATCH IT, WHEN FILLING IN THE PINBOARD.REG FILE!! YOU'RE NAME
AND BBS NAME, *MUST* BE EXACT THE SAME AS IN YOUR REMOTE ACCESS
CONFIGURATION, THE CONFIG.RA FILE!!!!! (OR WHAT BBS PACKET YOU ARE USING)
When anything goes wrong with the registered version of Pinboard, feel
free to contact me.
For more information about registering, read the PINBOARD.REG file.

├─=≡[ 4 - Guarantees ]≡=──────────────────────────────────────────────┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
I, Ivo van Heel, can not be held responsible, for any damage to your
computer, caused by Pinboard. Pinboard is well beta-tested, so I don't
think your PC will get blown up when you start up Pinboard, but I'm
a sleazy programmer, so maybe your computer WILL explode! ;-)
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
├─=≡[ 5 - Installation ]≡=────────────────────────────────────────────┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
Installation is very simple, but there are many buttheads on this planet,
so I will explain it to you anyway. ;-)
Just make a menu entry in RAMENU (or whatever) type 7:
Type 7: Execute sub-program.
Optional data: <DIRECTORY TO PINBOARD>\PINBOARD.EXE
For the REAL buttheads: <DIRECTORY TO PINBOARD> is the directory where the
PINBOARD.EXE file is.
And <DIRECTORY TO PINBOARD> is also where the PINBOARD.? and PINBOARD.NAM
files will be written to.
PINBOARD.EXE has no parameters (yet), so this is it! You've just installed
the greatest door ever! (No, just kidding!)
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
├─=≡[ 6 - Files in this package ]≡=───────────────────────────────────┤ ┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
This package contains the following files:
PINBOARD.EXE => This is the main file, Pinboard itself.
PINBOARD.DOC => The documentation, this text.
PINBOARD.REG => Registration form.
DR2RA100.ARJ => DOORTORA, program to make this door work on a BBS system
other then Remote Access.
WHATSNEW.102 => This file contains a list of bug fixes and new features
in this version and all other versions.
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐

└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
If this door just won't work on your BBS, and your BBS packet is NOT
Remote Access or compattible, you should try this.
Included in the Pinboard packet is the DOORTORA.ARJ file. This is a program,
written by Hans Siemons, that converts your BBS files to Remote Access
BBS files. For more information about DOORTORA and how to use it,
un-ARJ the DOORTORA.ARJ file, and read all about it in de DOCumentation.
Thanks to Hans Siemons for writing this neat program, and letting me use
it, in exchange for just a registered version of Pinboard.

├─=≡[ 9 - Support ]≡=─────────────────────────────────────────────────┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
No support is given anymore from Trade Wars Net. I dumped this net
quitte a while ago.

├─=≡[ 10 - Distribution ]≡=───────────────────────────────────────────┤
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────[ Pinboard v1.02 ]─┘
Pinboard is distributed, spreaded, by the RA_FNET files net. For more
information about this net, request or download their policy, RA_FNET.POL,
somewhere. All future releases of Pinboard are hatched into this net,
hopefully.
